Prayer

This week our church had VBS and I helped with the crafts. Today we made prayer chain links. We had the kids put a persons name on them or something else that they wanted to pray for. One of the little girls asked "Can I put my pets down?" and I told her "absolutely! put whatever she wanted too". Now thinking back on it, I came to realize something. I think a lot of us Christians today have forgot that we can pray about Everything.

Scripture tells us in Philippians 4:6-7 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus". In verse 6 it says "but in everything", so to me that means we need to pray about Everything.

Sounds easy, right? To a lot of us it is not, we seem to pick what we think should pray about and discard the rest. God wants us to give him our all. Our Everything! All of our hurts, pains, Prayers, desires, plans, the list goes on. Then we can truly have the "peace of God, which surpasses all understanding". He gave it all for us, he wants us to give it all for him!
